In light of recent tragedies, a new Canadian holiday has been announced. The day after any Toronto Maple Leafs game will now be known as "Hug a Leafs Fan" day. Upcoming "Hug a Leafs Fan" days include:
- Today! Go try the new holiday out!
- Sunday, January 13th
- Wednesday, January 16th
Remember, whether they're cradling Mats Sundin bobbleheads and crying, or slowly twisting in the noose they made from a Doug Gilmour jersey, it's your civic duty to go hug a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and maybe offer some gentle encouragement. Government approved encouragement includes:
- It's ok, every team has a bad stretch. There isn't a single person on earth who saw the Chicago Cubs win their last World Series.
- At least Sundin seems to be defying the laws of aging.
- Stamkos

Today's positive thinking video.
"Hug a Leafs fan day". I like the sound of that. Can I hug myself if nobody else is around?
You just made me even sadder.
I wasn't trying to do that--I was just giving you a "for instance", that's all.
*hugs chemmy*
Well, looks like Sunday is going to be an important "Hug a Leafs Fan" day since we'll get to watch the only thing we have to rebuild around die.
I've got a better idea, I call it 'punch out a Sens fan day'
as much as I like hugs, punching Sens fans is always a spirit lifter, without the pity!
